Tianxing II Product Lineup
CATL introduced four Tianxing II heavy-truck battery versions: the rear-mounted Ultra-Light, rear-mounted Ultra-Thin, underfloor short-wheelbase and underfloor long-range models, alongside the Electric-Electric Range-Extender version. The products use third-generation CTP integrated cell-to-pack technology and integrated die-casting.
The rear-mounted Ultra-Light version weighs 530+ kg less than the industry average, uses cells with 450Wh/L volumetric energy density and is cited at about 12,000 yuan in additional annual revenue per truck. The rear-mounted Ultra-Thin version reduces battery thickness by 280mm, extends cargo-box length to 8.8m, adds 3m³ of extra load capacity and is cited at 25,000 yuan more earnings per vehicle per year.
The underfloor short-wheelbase version shortens wheelbase by 0.45m from the roughly 3.8m common in the industry, carries 3m³ more cargo, reduces turning radius by 0.9m, raises the longitudinal passing angle by 3° and lowers center-of-gravity height to 0.85m; CATL cites more than 50,000 yuan in added annual revenue per vehicle. The underfloor long-range version offers 760kWh and a single-charge range of more than 600km, with 20 minutes of charging adding 300km.
Electric-Electric Range-Extender and Swap Blocks
The Tianxing II Electric-Electric Range-Extender version combines an underfloor main-drive battery system of 432kWh or 513kWh with a 77kWh rear-mounted range-extender battery. The main-drive battery can be run down to 5% state of charge before the truck returns to a swap station.
