September 2026 imports
China imported 21,000 complete vehicles in September 2026, down 6.1% from the previous month and 48.7% from September a year earlier, according to customs data compiled by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
The import value of complete vehicles in September 2026 was US$1.26 billion, a month-on-month decline of 11.4% and a year-on-year decline of 38.1%.
January to September 2026
In the first nine months of 2026, China imported 288,000 complete vehicles, 20.1% fewer than in the same period a year earlier, the association's data show.
The value of those imports over January to September 2026 totaled US$14.25 billion, down 21.9% year on year.
The data were compiled by the association's industry information department from customs figures.
