B10 Local Production

Leapmotor's B10 rolled off the production line at Stellantis' Zaragoza plant in Spain on October 16, becoming the first Leapmotor mass-production model built in Europe. Leapmotor adapted the local production system and integrated the B10 into European manufacturing steps including stamping, welding, painting and final assembly.

Stellantis' Zaragoza plant has more than 43 years of vehicle manufacturing history and has produced more than 10 million vehicles. Suppliers in the automotive cluster around Zaragoza, including companies making chassis, bumpers, tailgates and active aerodynamics components, are deeply involved in the Leapmotor B10 project.

Battery Plant in Malian

Leapmotor's new battery plant in Malian, Spain, is the first independent battery factory built overseas by a Chinese automaker, according to the company. The plant is about 30 kilometers from the Zaragoza factory and remains in its first phase.

First-phase annual capacity is expected to be 60,000 to 100,000 battery packs, with a later ramp-up target of 200,000 packs a year. Leapmotor has begun discussions about expanding the Malian production line.

Stellantis manufacturing head and Leapmotor International Spain business head Yann Martin said the company received the keys to an empty factory building in February and passed the PPAP production part approval process in just seven months, moving into the next stage. Gao Xiang serves as deputy general manager of the Leapmotor Spain battery plant, and Vicente, a local manager, is the plant director. Chinese, English and Spanish signage is visible throughout the factory.
