NIO Addresses COP17 Opening
The 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) opened on October 19 in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. NIO was the only invited Chinese company to deliver a keynote speech at the event.
At the opening ceremony of the COP17 China Pavilion, NIO co-founder and president Qin Lihong spoke on behalf of Chinese enterprises, delivering a keynote titled "Gathering More Strength to Protect Biodiversity Together."
NIO also served as the green mobility partner for the China Pavilion, providing full transport support for the China delegation and high-level guests.
Clean Parks Expands to 19 Protected Areas
NIO's Clean Parks initiative, which the company describes as its core vehicle for advancing from reducing impact to actively protecting nature, has established 19 protected areas globally in partnership with organizations including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
NIO has also formed comprehensive ecological co-building partnerships with all five of China's national parks.
This year NIO signed an agreement with the Kunming Biodiversity Fund, becoming the first company to donate to the fund.
Official Reception Fleet and Event Context
NIO assembled an official reception fleet of ES9 and ES8 vehicles for COP17, staffed by road service specialists selected from across the country and supported by a vehicle preparation and after-sales service team.
The Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity has been held regularly since its first meeting in 1994. This year's COP17 is themed "Taking Action for Nature" and will conduct the first global collective progress review of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
