Certification Details

Nio's two electric drive products, the 340kW permanent magnet synchronous electric drive system (TZ198Y001) and the 180kW induction asynchronous electric drive system (YS198S003), have obtained Yangtze River Delta product carbon footprint certification certificates. The certificates are the first of their kind in the electric drive industry for electric vehicles.

The certification was carried out in accordance with the General Implementation Rules for Product Carbon Footprint Certification (Trial) issued by the Certification and Accreditation Administration of China, advanced by the Shanghai Municipal Administration for Market Regulation, and launched by the Yangtze River Delta Green Certification Alliance.

According to the certificates, the carbon footprint quantification value for the 340kW permanent magnet synchronous electric drive system is 734.35 kgCO2e, and for the 180kW induction asynchronous electric drive system is 501.14 kgCO2e. The data time boundary is October 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026, and the system boundary is cradle-to-gate.

The certification date is September 4, 2026, and the certificates are valid until September 3, 2028.

Product Category Rules and Technology Recognition

The Product Category Rules for Drive Motor Systems for Electric Vehicles (PCR) were officially published on April 3, 2026, on two platforms: EPD China and EPD Norge.

The 340kW permanent magnet synchronous electric drive system received the first prize of the 2026 China Society of Automotive Engineers Science and Technology Award.
