Blowout stability testing
XPeng tested the MONA L05's all-scenario blowout stability control across multiple extreme conditions, with MONA product lead Jiang Wen aboard for a continuous real-world challenge. The MONA L05 comes standard with all-scenario blowout stability control.
With five people and nine boxes aboard, the MONA L05 completed a 160km/h simultaneous same-side front and rear tire blowout challenge. The blowout stability tests also covered a 180km/h ultra-high-speed single front tire blowout, a 120km/h high-speed lane-change single front tire blowout, a 120km/h single-side blowout on a split-friction road, and a 70km/h curve blowout.
Images from the event label the blowout stability response as 200ms, described as millisecond-level rapid response.
AEB and AES testing
In testing with five people and nine boxes aboard, the MONA L05 braked to a stop from 130km/h when encountering a stationary obstacle using AEB automatic emergency braking. XPeng states that the AEB braking speed is the highest in the industry and that the system's maximum operating speed is 150km/h.
At 130km/h with the same load, the MONA L05's AES emergency steering avoidance responded to a sudden lane change by a vehicle ahead.
Driver incapacitation assistance
The MONA L05's driver incapacitation assistance was tested for the first time at night: after multiple warnings drew no response from the driver, the vehicle actively decelerated, pulled over and stopped, automatically unlocked the doors, and simultaneously triggered an emergency call.
