Third Group-Level Agreement

Dongfeng Motor and CATL signed a group-level strategic cooperation agreement on October 29 in Wuhan, marking the third such collaboration between the two companies. The partnership has spanned three Five-Year Plan periods: joint battery supply chain development during the 13th Five-Year Plan, high-end products and battery recycling during the 14th, and now an ultra-fast charging and battery swap ecosystem with a global footprint during the 15th.

Dongfeng Motor Chairman and Party Secretary Yang Qing, General Manager and Deputy Party Secretary Feng Changjun, CATL Chairman and CEO Robin Zeng, and CATL Market System Co-President Yang Jun attended the signing. Dongfeng Strategic Planning Department General Manager Yang Yanding and CATL Domestic Passenger Vehicle Business Division Vice President Luo Huiping signed on behalf of the two companies.

Ultra-Fast Charging Development

The two companies will jointly develop next-generation ultra-fast charging technology. Products capable of 10C-and-above charging rates are planned for debut in vehicles from Voyah, M-Hero and Yijing brands, with the aim of significantly shortening charging times.

Passenger and Commercial Swap Architecture

Dongfeng and CATL will co-develop a battery swap architecture covering the full passenger and commercial vehicle range. The plan calls for bringing Yipai, Yijing, M-Hero and other mid-to-high-end brands into the swap system, while supporting Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle and Chenglong in launching swap-capable models, extending coverage across passenger and commercial use cases.
