Agreement signed in Shenzhen
BYD and vivo signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Shenzhen. The signing was witnessed by BYD Group Chairman and President Wang Chuanfu and vivo President, COO and Central Research Institute Director Hu Baishan. BYD Group Senior Vice President and Automotive New Technology Research Institute Director Yang Dongsheng and vivo Vice President, OS Vice President and vivo AI Global Research Institute Director Zhou Wei signed the agreement on behalf of the two companies.
Industry-first features headed to Denza N8
Several industry-first capabilities from the cooperation will be carried on the Denza N8, a five-seat SUV. The Denza N8 features a globally debuted large-screen smart cockpit with a 30-inch display, and the two companies have adapted the mirroring function to the floating-window design, working with the vivo X Fold 6 to use the large screen.
The two companies have launched an NFC tap-to-connect feature. With a compatible accessory button, a vivo phone can establish a connection with a single tap and move applications between devices without manual steps.
Users can wake the "Hello Denza" assistant to query information, create calendar entries, make payments and navigate across devices through an agent. BYD and vivo have also connected BYD's AI super agent "Didixia" with vivo's AI assistant "Blue Heart Xiao V".
Existing cooperation and overseas plans
BYD and vivo began cooperating in 2019. In-car fast charging and digital car keys have entered mass production, and phone-to-car connectivity is available on some models across all BYD Auto brands.
