NIO Advanced Manufacturing Plant Named 2026 National Excellence-Level Smart Factory

NIO's advanced manufacturing plant has been named a 2026 National Excellence-Level Smart Factory, an honor jointly deployed by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and five other departments. The plant's XinQiao No. 2 factory previously earned World Economic Forum Global Lighthouse status.

Award Recognition

NIO's advanced manufacturing plant has been recognized as a 2026 National Excellence-Level Smart Factory. The Excellence-Level Smart Factory designation is jointly deployed by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and five other departments and is an important tier in China's smart factory cultivation system.

XinQiao No. 2 Factory Capabilities

The NIO advanced manufacturing XinQiao No. 2 factory has embedded more than 90 kilometers of fiber optic cable, forming a digital network that covers the production floor. AI-assisted decision-making has been implemented in 80% of the factory's manufacturing scenarios.

Automated Inspection Systems

The TianTan system automatically completes more than 1,000 vehicle function checks in 3 minutes, improving inspection efficiency by more than 10 times compared with manual work. The TianTong quality intelligent inspection island completes inspection of one vehicle in 84 seconds, a 48% efficiency improvement over manual inspection. The AI quality inspection system raises defect identification accuracy to 99.7%.

Prior Global Lighthouse Recognition

The NIO advanced manufacturing XinQiao No. 2 factory previously was named a World Economic Forum Global Lighthouse. According to the World Economic Forum, the factory accelerates product market launch by 44%, achieves 90% automation of R&D workflows, and can manage more than 3.6 million vehicle configurations.

Future Manufacturing Plans

NIO's advanced manufacturing system will continue to deepen the application of industrial AI and digital twin technologies in manufacturing scenarios, promoting further coordination across production, quality, and R&D.
