NIO's Two AI Achievements Selected
On October 23, the closing ceremony of the 2026 World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference was held in Beijing, where the 2026 Top 10 Automotive AI Application Cases were officially released. NIO's World Model NWM and NIO's vehicle-edge-cloud collaborative Tian Tong Tian Tan vehicle AI quality inspection platform both made the list.
The two achievements were presented as representative practices of AI empowering automotive driving automation and automotive R&D and production intelligence, respectively. The World Model NWM was case one, and the Tian Tong Tian Tan platform was case seven.
NIO World Model NWM
NIO has built a three-layer training framework of world model, supervised fine-tuning, and closed-loop reinforcement learning. Through long-sequence environmental reasoning and high-frequency closed-loop reinforcement learning, the framework balances a human-like sense of safety with human-like efficiency.
NIO states that it is the first domestic automaker to apply complete closed-loop reinforcement learning to the development of intelligent assisted driving. The NIO World Model NWM has already achieved scaled mass-production deployment across multiple brands and platforms.
Tian Tong Tian Tan AI Quality Inspection Platform
The Tian Tong Tian Tan platform adopts a collaborative architecture of vehicle-side autonomous execution, edge-side real-time perception, and cloud-side coordinated scheduling. It incorporates the vehicle's own computing power and algorithm capabilities into the quality inspection system, transforming the vehicle from an object being inspected into an autonomous inspector.
